Steal her Style: Lacey Madison

Meet style queen @laceymadison_. We got her to pick her fave go to Peppermayo fits — get some outfit inspo and see how she has styled them below.

How would you describe your style?

I like to believe I'm always evolving in fashion and unafraid to try something new and different! One aspect of my style that always remains consistent is playing up assets, I love to embrace my curves and flaunt them with all different fun textures and patterns!

What is your go-to staple piece in your wardrobe?

My staple piece is something that people generally look over but I believe every girl needs a good quality Cropped Turtle neck! It goes with absolutely anything and is extremely flattering on all shapes and sizes. I often like to pair my cropped turtle neck with some sweat pants and sneakers on a casual day and to dress it up I might pair it with a cute skirt and some heels.

Heels or sneakers?

HEELS! Any day ;) My entire shoe collection is made of staple heels to make every outfit that little bit more glamorous!

What’s your skincare secret?

Keep it simple! I feel that too many of us are doing too much! A Simple gentle face wash and a great moisturiser can go a long way. My personal favourites are the Dermalogica Gentle Foaming Face wash and Olay Sensitive skin Daily Moisturiser.

Tell us something about you that no one knows.

I am an absolute hopeless romantic... but let's keep it between us! HAHA, I like to play it with the boys, like I play with my fashion... cool and simple but really I'm looking for someone who will absolutely sweep me off my feet.

Who is your fashion icon?

Ahh, this is so difficult because there are so many stunning and brilliant minded women at the forefront of fashion popping up every day! At the moment I would definitely have to say Olivia Culpo or Danielle Bernstein (@weworewhat)! They are the definition of timeless fashion and I am all for it!

How did you start blogging and what inspired you?

Honestly, there were three things I always loved growing up, Video, Writing and FASHION! So when the gust of blogging came about I suppose quite naturally I fell right in. We live in such an amazing day and age where we are now able to share our art via so many different platforms and I think that in itself is incredibly inspiring! We have the world at our fingertips, why not share our passions with it!

What has been your most exciting experience as an influencer?

It is so hard to name just one!! I am so blessed to be able to work with some amazing companies like Peppermayo and the team who can become friends for life! The most amazing part about my job is the people I get to meet, every single day is different and every single interaction is inspiring... I am lucky to say that every day brings a new exciting experience.

What is your career goal?

My career goal is to eventually create an online coaching programme that allows other #ladybosses to take control of their passions and start to make Instagram a lucrative career!

What is the hardest part about being an influencer?

I think the hardest part is knowing where to start, what to say and who to speak to! It can be incredibly daunting positioning yourself as an influencer and I recognise the need for change in this aspect of the field. I am in the middle of creating a bunch of email templates to send out to brands with Pitching and catching templates for every scenario you could think of when it comes to influencer marketing so that newbies or even people who have been influencers for a while... will never get stuck writing an email again. Other than that, I think it is vital to learn the skill of patience because it could be a long windy journey and people often give up... but if this is the life and job you want then you have to keep chasing it.

Have you had any embarrassing moments in your career?

I used to have this beauty channel... needless to say, I have no idea how to do makeup at all and my videos were not given the response I thought they would receive! HAHAHA, which is fine because we live and learn! I immediately took that channel down and realised I need to stay in my lane HAHAHA I know fashion like the back of my hand and I made a smart decision pursuing it.

What advice would you give to other people who want to become an influencer?

Be patient and provide substance! It is important to be patient because this is a long road and you are going to be putting in a lot of hours without very much financial reward to back you, but just keep hustling and you will get there! I think it is super important to carry some substance behind your platforms and what you do, what is the purpose of what you post? I think there are already too many influencers who can just sit there, look pretty and get paid for it so if you want to make it now... have a message to share and help change people for the better!

If you could eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

If I could eat one food for the rest of my life without putting on any weight I would eat So Good Vegan Soy Ice Cream HAHAHA I have to have a bowl every night or best believe I will be angry. Otherwise, a nice fruit platter always gets me feeling good :)

What's your fave Peppermayo piece right now?

The Adama Mini Skirt is my absolute favourite right now! This whole animal print trend is really growing on me and I love how pepper mayo incorporated the fashion + slit trend to make it my DREAM skirt!
